About Humanism
Humanism
Humanism is the belief that we can live good lives without religious or superstitious belief. Humanists make sense of life using reason, experience and shared human values. We seek to make the best of the one life we have by creating meaning and purpose for ourselves. We take responsibility for our own actions and work with others for the common good.
Humanists think that
This world and this life are all we have
We should try to live full and happy lives ourselves and, as part of this, make it easier for others to do the same
All situations and people deserve to be judged on their merits by standards of reason and humanity
Individuality and social co-operation are equally important.

“Thank you most sincerely for pulling together the loose threads and so make what could be a sad occasion something different and make it a day we shall all remember with pleasant memories.”

“I just wanted to thank you very much for conducting the service for my wife on Tuesday. You did a magnificent job and everyone I have spoken to since has said that. You captured her life brilliantly and it came across as though you had known her for years. It made the day easier for both the girls and I and I think even her Mum and Dad. Once again thanks very much from all of us.”
